Evelyn was born in Helena, Mont., on Jan. 29, 1944, to Harold and Laurine (Monroe) Williams. She moved with her parents and her three older siblings to a farm in Baldwin, shortly after her birth. She attended a one-room school house through the eighth grade and then moved to Bismarck to attend Bismarck High School. In her 20s, Evelyn started working as a front desk attendant at the Patterson Hotel, where she would meet her husband, Byrd Bidgood. They were married in 1977 in Worland, Wyo. In 1978, they were blessed with the birth of identical twin daughters. They were the light of their life. After the twins entered school, Evelyn went back to work, eventually ending up at the Bismarck Public Library as a technical processor, where she was able to work surrounded by one of her favorite things: books. She was an avid reader, animal lover to her cat, Regi, embroiderer, crafter and loved to put together puzzles. Evelyn also loved to drink Coke and watch the Golden Girls or anything on the Hallmark Channel. As technology advanced so did Evelyn, she became quite the Tetris player and enjoyed emailing with her daughters. In 1994, Evelyn lost her husband, Byrd, after a long illness, where her and her daughters were his primary caregivers for many years. Evelyn was kind, gentle, creative and always had a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Even as many health problems plagued her later in life and caused numerous setbacks, she never complained and continued to fight. She left a lasting impression on all who met her. One of her happiest moments later in life was becoming a grandmother to her grandson, David. Whenever she was around him, she beamed. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Lorine (Nick) Menzhuber, Minneapolis, and Laura Bidgood (boyfriend, Josh Abell), Minneapolis; grandson, David Byrd Menzhuber; brother, Clifford (Ardith) Williams, Mandan; sisters, June Brown, Baldwin, and Darlene Feist, Bismarck; and other extended family throughout North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Byrd Bidgood; and brothers-in-law, Louis Brown, Joe Feist and Johannes Butz. The family of Evelyn would like to thank the staff and nurses at The Baptist Home who always took such loving and attentive care of her.
