Evelyn was born on March 7, 1915, at Schuyler, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Scanlon) Geiger. Evelyn was preceded in death by: husband, Louis Suntych and her sons, Lavern and Dwayne Suntych. Evelyn was born on March 7, 1915, at Schuyler, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Scanlon) Geiger. Evelyn was preceded in death by: husband, Louis Suntych and her sons, Lavern and Dwayne Suntych. Evelyn is survived by: daughters, Delores Lemburg of Grand Island and Sharon Jonak and Bob Ksionzek of Ashton; daughter-in-law, Rosalee Suntych of Boelus; brother, Vernon Geiger of Piedmont, S. D.; grandchildren, Colleen Kleier (Mike), Christy Nash (Rick), Cindy Johnson, Rick Suntych, Randy Suntych (Jennifer), Kim Stelk (Clayton), Rhonda Barker (Robert), Vicky Bellows (Lee), Lynette Larchick (Russ, fiance'), and Stacie Dawkins (Walter); and Megan Yutesler, whom she considered as a grandchild; 24 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. As a young girl, Evelyn moved with her family to a farm near Farwell, NE. where she grew up and attended country schools. Evelyn was united in marriage to Louis H. Suntych on Nov. 25, 1933, at St. Paul. The couple farmed southwest of Farwell. She also worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunitions Plant in Grand Island and did babysitting in her home. Mr. Suntych died on July 20, 1974. She then moved to Cairo where continued babysitting for many families. In the early 1990's she moved to Grand Island, where she lived the rest of her life. Evelyn was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. She was a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. Evelyn enjoyed crafts, sewing, playing cards, cooking, word find puzzles and loved spending time with her family. In addition to her husband and sons, she was preceded in death by: parents; twin brother, Everett Geiger; brother, Lester Geiger; and her beloved dog, Benji. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, St. Paul, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on February 1, 2012
