Description	:	Evelyn was born Jan. 26, 1928, on the family farm near Golden Valley, the daughter of John W. and Emma (Bunk) Flemmer. She was raised and educated in the Golden Valley area. Evelyn married Reuben M. Krein on Nov. 24, 1946, in Golden Valley and they made their home in Beulah before moving to Bismarck in 1977. She was raised and educated in the Golden Valley area. Evelyn married Reuben M. Krein on Nov. 24, 1946, in Golden Valley and they made their home in Beulah before moving to Bismarck in 1977. They raised three children and helped raise six very energetic grandchildren. Evelyn was an excellent mother, housewife, business associate and was often an extra hand and guiding light for her husband, Reuben. For more than 30 years, they followed the harvest from Oklahoma to North Dakota as custom harvesters. Evelyn drove a variety of vehicles and fed and washed the clothes for her family and the hired help. During the off season, you could have found Evelyn participating in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, church affairs or helping with the operation of the Beulah bowling alley lunch bar. It was in Beulah where she developed her fondness for bowling. She bowled several times each week and that passion for bowling continued into her senior years as she loved bowling with her friends in the Bismarck area. Evelyn also worked for several years at the Bismarck Sheridan Hotel. Because of her many years of custom harvesting, the nomadic lifestyle became part of her character. Evelyn was always ready to "Go." She was ready to go bowling, shopping, fishing and out for lunch. She was up for a trip anywhere, any time and for any length of stay. She often commented about the places she had been and as a younger woman she would have never thought it possible. She traveled many states, south to Texas, to the east coast including the New England states and Florida and all of the west coast states and beyond to Hawaii. She traveled Canada and Mexico, cruised to the Bahamas and other Caribbean islands, and toured Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Evelyn commented that even though her life included many trials and tribulations, she was very fortunate to have been in good health, to have had many adventures, to have had great friends, to have had a loving family and recently, to have been able to watch her grandsons, Kohl and Karsten, play baseball. This amazing mother and grandmother will be missed by one son, Levi (Linda) Krein, Bismarck; two daughters, Lois Cahoon, Valley City, and Lori (Tim) Klein, Bismarck; and six grandchildren, including Monte (Dawn) Krein, Bismarck, Casey Krein, Bismarck, Erica (Adrian) Najara, Miami, Fla., Cal Cahoon, Plano, Texas, and Kohl and Karsten Klein, Bismarck. Evelyn is also survived by a sister, Charlotte Wichmann, Fargo; and two half-brothers, Leroy (Leonard) and John Flemmer, both of Golden Valley. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and John Flemmer; her husband, Reuben; an infant daughter, Linda; a brother, Clayton Flemmer; a sister, Lorraine Lennick; and two half-sister twins, Maryland Flemmer and Shirley Biffert.
