Description	:	Evelyn F. Bartik, 85, of Britt, passed away Thursday (July 4, 2002) at the Westview Care Center in Britt. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Private family interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt, with a scriptural wake service at 5 p.m. There will be additional visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Evelyn Frances Bartik, the daughter of The Rev. Clarence Oliver and Lelah Maye (Scott) Arnaman, was born on Christmas day, Dec. 25, 1916, at Exline. She spent most of her childhood in Centerville, where she graduated from high school in 1934. Following graduation, Evelyn attended business school and later worked for the Yellow Cab Co. in Centerville. From 1961 to 1969, she worked as office manager for Dr. Marshall Nelson in his optometry office. Evelyn met her husband, Arthur Paul Bartik, while visiting her sister Fern, who was married to Arthur's twin brother Willie. Evelyn and Arthur were united in marriage on Sept. 23, 1936. They made their home in Britt, where they raised their family. Evelyn's great love was her family. Favorite pastimes included gardening, reading, music and travel. Those grateful for her life and love include her daughters, Carol Hefti and her husband, Marlin, of Arlington, Va., Diane Rodewald of San Diego, Calif., Bonita Wilson and her husband, Robert, of Reston, Va. and Kristine Niedert and her husband, Michael, of West Des Moines; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Vetter, of Strasburg, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, Julia Hefti Chu, John Hefti, James Hefti, Timothy Rodewald, Christopher Rodewald, Meridee Bartik Whittum, John Bartik, Robert Bartik, Amanda Wilson, Ezra Wilson and Anthony Niedert; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Fern Bartik, of Britt; two sisters-in- law, Marjorie Bartik of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Minnie Loo Bartik, of Collins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur, in 1972; son, James, in 1982; grandson, Dominick Christian Niedert, in 1999; a son-in-law, David Rodewald, in 1992; and three brothers-in-law, Ernest, Anthony and Willie Bartik.
