Read More	Evelyn Frances Howey December 18, 1937 - February 12, 2021 °•°♡°•°★°•°♡°•°★°•°♡°•°★°•°♡°•°★°•°♡• Evelyn Frances Howey,83, of Audubon, Iowa walked the steps to Heaven on February 12, 2021. She was the daughter of Glen Hagen Love and Viola Fern (Uhe) Love. Evelyn was born in Richmond, VA on December 18, 1937, the oldest of four children. They lived in a house that her father built, on Turner Road, just outside of Richmond city limits. The Love family then moved to Cedar Creek, NE area in 1952 to be closer to family, and in the spring of 1955, they moved to "the farm" near Louisville, NE. Evelyn's mother passed away in 1954 at the age of 36, when Evelyn was only 16. Being the oldest, she cared for her younger siblings. She was a graduate of Louisville High School in 1956. Evelyn married Gary Dean Howey on March 1, 1958, at the Methodist Church in Louisville, NE. After living in Richmond, Council Bluffs, Kansas City, Omaha, and Gretna, they moved to the family farm, North of Adair in 1971 where they farmed and raised livestock for 15 years. She always had a big garden and spent a lot of late nights canning what she produced. She loved the baby animals on the farm and especially her pets over the years. For the most part, she was a stay at home mom and did not want to work outside of the home until the kids were older. In 1986 they " retired" and moved to Hampton, IA where they owned and operated the Travelers Inn Motel for around 25 years. She was a hard-working woman. Gary and Evelyn had three children; Teresa (Jim) of Audubon, Michael (friend Kelly) of Belmond, and Patrick (Carol) of Stuart. Seven grandchildren; Brett (Diana) Eddy of Audubon, Alyse (Craig) Burns of Casper, Wyoming, and Aaron (friend Jackie) Eddy of Audubon. Kendra Howey of Meservey, Jacob (Jessica) Howey of Humboldt, Kaleb (Kelsey) of Marion, and Benjamin Howey of Stuart along with eight great-grandchildren thus far. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, brother-in-law Frank Howey, two Sister in Law's; Betty (Howey) Morgan, and Joan (Howey) Murphy. Her nephews Terry Morgan and Scott Brady and her niece Jeanette Le Master. Evelyn is survived by her husband Gary, her three children and their families, her two sisters and their husbands; Glenda (Love)Turner and Robert of Florida and Betty Ann (Love) McGill and Kirby of Missouri, her sister in law and husband Charlene (Howey) and Pete Brady of West Des Moines, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank Pat and Carol for opening their home to mom and taking care of her in her final days and hours. It was a selfless act of kindness and genuine love. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Twigg Funeral Home in Guthrie Center.
