Description	:	BRYANT — Evelyn Storhaug, 83, Brookings, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, in a care center at Brookings. Funeral services will be Wednesday in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at Bryant with the Rev. Sue Grinde officiating. Burial will be in Our Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation in the Osthus Funeral Chapel at Bryant. Evelyn Gnat was born June 26, 1924, to Edward and Bertha (Giles) Gnat on a farm near Erwin. She grew up near Erwin and attended rural country school. She attended high school at Bryant and graduated with the class of 1942. She worked in Minneapolis as a housekeeper for a period of time and then returned to Erwin. She married Morris Storhaug July 12, 1946, in Watertown. They farmed near Erwin from 1950 to 1966. In 1975, they moved into the city of Erwin. Her husband died in 1983 and she continued to live in Erwin until entering Parkview Assisted Living in Bryant in 2001, Parkview Care Center in 2003 and later moved to United Retirement Center in Brookings where she resided until the time of her death. She enjoyed bowling and was a lifetime member of W.I.B.C. Bowling Association. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Erwin, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Erwin VFW, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bryant and ELCW and the Neighborhood Birthday Club. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James and Wallace. Survivors include two sons, Michael (Kathy) Storhaug of Aberdeen and Dale (Annette) Storhaug of Brookings; one daughter, Mercedes (Marcie) Charles Robinson of Cloquet, Minn.; four brothers, Cecil (Nainna) Gnat of Salix, Iowa, Alden Gnat of Santa Rosa, Calif., Wendel (Joanne) Gnat of Huron and Ronald (Anita) Gnat of Pierce, Neb.; three sisters, Geraldine Berick of LaHonda, Calif., Dorothy (Adrian) Pratt of Indianapolis and Betty Robenalt of San Jose, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
