She was the daughter of R.K. and Etta E. Hays of Kimball, Nebraska. She grew to womanhood at Ashland and attended school there 11 years. Evelyn Hays Walden was born at Ashland, Nebr., March 2, 1916, and departed this life at Gunnison, Colorado, June 28, 1935, aged 19 years, 3 months, and 26 days. She was the daughter of R.K. and Etta E. Hays of Kimball, Nebraska. She grew to womanhood at Ashland and attended school there 11 years. In 1932, she moved to Kimball with her parents where she graduated from High School with the class of 1933. She was united in marriage to W.N. Walden on March 31, 1934, at her home in Kimball, Nebraska. She had a lovable disposition and was a member of the Congregational Church at Ashland. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, W.N. Walden, her father and mother, two sisters Mrs. E.F. Richards, Bushnell, Mrs. Walter Zabel, Gunnison, Colo, and brother J. Francis Hays, Centralia, Mo. Three nieces Shirley Roe and Edna Cleo Zabel and Sylvia Jean Hays and one stepson Richard Walden of Lamoni, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends. DEATH CLAIMS KIMBALL GIRL EVELYN (HAYS) WALDEN SUFFERS HEART ATTACK- GRADUATED Of HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1933 Mrs. N. W. Walden formerly Miss Evelyn Hays, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Hays of Kimball, died Friday, June 28 in the Gunnison, Colorado hospital. Mrs. Walden had been ill about a week but suddenly became critically ill Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Hays received word Friday morning that her daughter was seriously ill and Friday evening learned she had died from a sudden attack of heart trouble. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. H. L. Manning. Interment was not made until yesterday the body being held awaiting the arrival of a brother from Centralia Missouri. "Evelyn Hays Is Wed March 31 to Walter Walden" "Ceremony is Read at Home of Bride's Parents at Kimball" A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Hays of Kimball, Nebr., Saturday evening, March 31 at 7 o'clock when their daughter Evelyn became the bride of Walter Walden, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Walden of Lamoni Iowa. Preceding the ceremony Martin A. Zabel played "I Love You Truly." The bridal party entered to the strains of Lohengrin's Wedding march. Sylvia Jean Hays, niece of the bride acted as page. The bride was attended by Miss Marjorie Harlow of Tie Siding, Wyo., who was attired in a navy blue swagger suit with white accessories. Ralph Traxler of Lamoni, la., acted as groom's man. The bride entered on her father's arm. She wore a crane gray swagger suit with blue accessories. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. L. Manning of the Presbyterian church of Kimball. Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served to about thirty guests. Miss Edna Spitz and Miss Lois Adam served. The bride is a graduate of the Kimball county high school with the class of 1933. Mr. Walden is a graduate of Graceland college of Lamoni, Ia., and of Iowa University.
