Description	:	Evelyn Joan (Bailey) Fitzgerald was born October 27th, 1925 in North Lopham, Norfolk, England to Sidney and Florence (Bowles) Bailey. She went to St. Andrew's Primary School. On December 28th, 1944 she married U.S. Serviceman Raphael Fitzgerald at St. Edmunds Catholic Church in Bury St. Edmunds. They had one child in England and they named her Judith (Judy). Then Evelyn and Judy boarded the RMS Queen Mary and made their way to the United States and on April 21st,1946, Judy's 1st Birthday, they arrived in New York. Raphael picked them up by train and they made their way to Belle Plaine, Iowa. Her and Raphael would make their home on the Fitzgerald Family Farm just east of Luzerne. She converted to Catholicism when she married Raphael. They then moved to Belle Plaine. Evelyn died September 6th, 1987 at Marengo Memorial Hospital from ovarian cancer. She left behind her husband, Raphael, daughters: Judy, Mary, Linda, and Janet; and sons: Jim and Joe; Siblings: Leonard, Roy, Ernest, Reg, Kathy, Vera, and Winnie -all of England; and many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and children David and Theresa. Services were held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.
