Evelyn was born on November 9, 1940, northeast of O'Neill, Nebraska to Edward Leroy and Carrie (Putman) Hood. Evelyn attended Meek District School #27 northeast of O'Neill, Nebraska and graduated from Butte (NE.) High School. On December 31, 1959, she married Melvin Armfield at the Wesleyan Parsonage, O'Neill, Nebraska. After they were married Evelyn was a homemaker while Melvin worked on several ranches. Evelyn was born on November 9, 1940, northeast of O'Neill, Nebraska to Edward Leroy and Carrie (Putman) Hood. Evelyn attended Meek District School #27 northeast of O'Neill, Nebraska and graduated from Butte (NE.) High School. On December 31, 1959, she married Melvin Armfield at the Wesleyan Parsonage, O'Neill, Nebraska. After they were married Evelyn was a homemaker while Melvin worked on several ranches. They lived in Holt County, Boyd County, and Keya Paha County, Nebraska, and Gregory County, South Dakota. They moved to Raynesford, Montana, in 1975, where she was a cook at the Kibbey Corner Truck Stop. She also worked at Wal-Mart, Great Falls, Montana. When Melvin retired in 2000, they moved to Tilden, Nebraska. Evelyn had a good faith in God, which she passed along to her family. Evelyn survivors are: husband of 54 years, Melvin Armfield of Tilden, Nebraska; children; Daniel Armfield, Sr. and wife Tessie, of Mesa, Arizona, Joan Tomcko, of Medina, Ohio and Derrick Armfield and wife Christine, of Cedar Hill, Texas; grandchildren, Daniel, Jr., Kari, Tasha, Ryan, Amanda, Emily, Samantha, Jerill; sisters; Irene McHale and Arlene Fox, both of O'Neill, Nebraska and Josephine Worcester, of Atkinson, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Evelyn is preceded in death by: parents; 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, north of O'Neill, Nebraska.
