Description	:	EVELYN (KUPER) LATHER. Evelyn Lather, 89, of Huron, died Feb 14, 2003 at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral service was held Feb 22 at the Kuhler Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial of her cremated remains was held at the Ideal Cemetery. Evelyn Lucille Kuper was born January 26, 1914, at Miller to John J. and Kathryn (Walton) Kuper. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial of her cremated remains was held at the Ideal Cemetery. Evelyn Lucille Kuper was born January 26, 1914, at Miller to John J. and Kathryn (Walton) Kuper. She grew up in the Miller area and attended school there. She worked as a housekeeper in Miller, and in 1934 she married Carl Bushman, Jr. Following their marriage they lived in Huron. During the war Evelyn worked at Armour's, at Dakota Biscuit and then as a dispatcher for the Yellow Top Cab Company in Huron. She married Harold Lather at Huron on May 25, 1952. They ran the cab company until the 1960's when they moved to Miller. There they purchased a laundromat which they operated until they opened the Ranch Cafe in Miller. In 1985 they sold the cafe and returned to Huron. Evelyn loved crafts and raising flowers, especially African violets. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Kenneth Kuper V.F.W. Post #3442 of Custer. Survivors include her son, Robert "Bob" Bushman of Huron; a stepson, George (Helen) Lather of Sun City, Arizona; a stepdaughter, Jessie (Robert) Johnson of Sun City, Arizona; one grandson, Kenneth Bushman and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Johnny, as a youth, a brother, Kenneth during World War II; two half-sisters; Dorothy Beadles and Martha Barnum; and her husband, Harold Lather.
