Description	:	Evelyn L. (Scholz) Fitzgerald Jan. 29, 1920-Dec. 19, 2009 Evelyn Lydia Fitzgerald of LaPorte, IN, passed away Dec. 19, 2009 at home under the guidance of Southern Care Hospice service. She was born Jan. 29, 1920 to the August and Lillian (Shedrow) Scholz. Evelyn was a 1938 graduate of San Pierre High School. After school, she continued to assist on the family farm along with serving as a caregiver to an elderly couple. She then found employment as a nanny to a Chicago family which she enjoyed.... Read More	Evelyn L. (Scholz) Fitzgerald Jan. 29, 1920-Dec. 19, 2009 Evelyn Lydia Fitzgerald of LaPorte, IN, passed away Dec. 19, 2009 at home under the guidance of Southern Care Hospice service. She was born Jan. 29, 1920 to the August and Lillian (Shedrow) Scholz. Evelyn was a 1938 graduate of San Pierre High School. After school, she continued to assist on the family farm along with serving as a caregiver to an elderly couple. She then found employment as a nanny to a Chicago family which she enjoyed. Her next position was at Jasper-Pulaski Tree Nursery until her marriage to Alden B. Fitzgerald on Oct. 27, 1956. She joined Alden in LaPorte and worked at Woolworth's for over 20 years. Evelyn was a current member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in LaPorte. She had provided volunteer services at the community nursing homes along with assembling Braille books. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Alden; one son, Byron; daughter-in-law, Brenda (Russell) Fitzgerald; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Katherine Fitzgerald; brother, Edward Scholz along with the families of her nieces, Pamela, Romel, Debbie, Nancy and nephew August. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. CST, Tuesday Dec. 22, 2009 at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lane St., North Judson, Ind., and one hour price to the memorial service on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. CST at Saint Luke United Church of Christ in San Pierre, IN. Burial will follow in San Pierre Cemetery, San Pierre, IN.
