| Description | : | Evelyn Mae Mashek, 94, of Spillville, died Friday, Oct. 24, at the Ossian Senior Hospice, Ossian, after a short illness. She was born Aug. 15, 1914, near Spillville, daughter of Wenzil and Elenora Humpal Strnad. She married George Mashek on Aug. 25, 1936, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Spillville. Mrs. Mashek farmed with her husband the Mashek family farm near Calmar and then southwest of Spillville until 1975. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Survived by: two sons, James (Mary) of Jesup and David (Sharon) of Spillvillel; a daughter, Gloria Mashek of Bettendorf; a grandson; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
