She died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Manilla Manor in Manilla, Iowa, at the age of eighty. Evelyn was born on a farm in Soldier Township, near Ricketts, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ in February 4, 1926 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township and later confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Charter Oak on April 6, 1941 by Rev. Schraeder. Read More	Evelyn Gloede Jan. 14, 1926-March 5, 2006 Evelyn Marie Gloede was born January 14, 1926, the daughter of Titus and Lillian Schmidt Gloede. She died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Manilla Manor in Manilla, Iowa, at the age of eighty. Evelyn was born on a farm in Soldier Township, near Ricketts, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ in February 4, 1926 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township and later confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Charter Oak on April 6, 1941 by Rev. Schraeder. She completed her education at St. John's Lutheran School. After completing her education, Evelyn worked hard at numerous jobs until she became ill at age twenty-four and was in and out of hospitals and nursing homes. She worked at Wesco for about ten years, until she fell and broke her hip. Evelyn loved her family and was loved by all of her family. She enjoyed her many visits with her sisters and enjoyed the different pastors who came to visit her. She loved her Lord very much. We her family, loved her very much, and the Lord taught us, through her, how to be understanding and loving to all the handicapped and disabled people in all phases of life. Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Hildegard Bohlmann and Francis Gloede; three brothers, Wilbur, Victor and Alvin Gloede and two brothers-in-law, Carl Bohlmann and Wallace Saunders. Survivors include three sisters, Elvera Carlyle and her husband, Jack of Rapid City, South Dakota; Darlene Saunders; Una Bell Frehse and her husband, Harold, all of Denison; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Baak of Charter Oak; many relatives and friends. Thank you to the staff of Manilla Manor for the loving care they gave Evelyn in her final days. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Rev. Kurt Kaiser and Rev. David Sewing officiated the service and grave side rites held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Soldier Township, Charter Oak, Iowa. Organist, Karen Kahl, provided the accompaniment for congregational hymns "How Great Thou Art" and "Abide With Me." Honorary pallbearers were: DuWayne Bohlmann, Virtus Bohlmann, Rndal Saunders, Keith Carlyle, Randy Gloede, Paul Briggle, Steve Carlyle and Tim Stuart. Those serving as pallbearers were: Rick Saunders, Craig Frehse, Roger Gloede, Allen Gloede, Ron Gloede and Jeff Frehse. The family invited everyone in attendance to join them in fellowship and lunch at Cronk's Restaurant.
