Evelyn was born on December 24, 1925, in Elgin, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Regina (Schinzel) Schlenz. Evelyn was raised on the family farm and attended St. Boniface Catholic School. She graduated in 1944. Evelyn was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone, Norfolk, Nebraska following high school. On June 24, 1947, Evelyn married Theodore Green. They made their home in Milford and Omaha, Nebraska before returning to Norfolk, Nebraska in 1964. In 1965, Evelyn began her career at Sherwood Medical. She was a machine operator for 24 years retiring in 1989. Evelyn was a member of Sacred Heart Saint Mary's Church, Norfolk, Nebraska belonged to the Altar Society, Rosary Crusade, and The Legion of Mary. She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, volunteered at nursing homes, senior center, and Norfolk (NE.) Veterans home. Evelyn was accomplished at crocheting and quilting, and enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together. She very much enjoyed family gatherings the friendship of others. Evelyn was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Theodore Green and 3 brothers. Funeral services for Evelyn Marie Green, was at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Norfolk, Nebraska. Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Elgin, Nebraska.
