Description	:	Nov. 11, 1926-March 2, 2007~ Evelyn Maude Chaney was born November 11, 1926, the 9th child of 12 to Carl Chaney and Josephine Rothwell Chaney, at the homestead on Chaney Hill, Moscow, ID, and passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on March 2, 2007, at the age of 80. Read More	Nov. 11, 1926-March 2, 2007~ Evelyn Maude Chaney was born November 11, 1926, the 9th child of 12 to Carl Chaney and Josephine Rothwell Chaney, at the homestead on Chaney Hill, Moscow, ID, and passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on March 2, 2007, at the age of 80. During WWII she worked in the shipyards in Bremerton to help with the war effort. During that time she met a handsome sailor, Ivan Hawk, and eventually they married and had one daughter, Jackie. Evelyn and Ivan divorced after 17+ years of marriage. She later married again which ended in divorce. As a single mom, she worked very hard to support herself and her daughter. Her work history included waitress, china painting (the Desert Rose pattern at Gladding McBeams -- latter called Franciscan), laborer at Atbar Plastics, and laborer at Bemis, where she retired. In spite of many life-struggles, she always had high integrity and a strong work ethic. Even in her late years she accomplished something useful every day. She had many interests, but her favorite was gardening. She was known as "The Tomato Queen". Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Jackie Hawk Knott; granddaughter, Candy Knott; grandson, Cash Knott; sister, Daisy Hendrix; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Evelyn will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; sisters, Joyceline Chaney, Dolly McCrary, Marie Watkins, Violet Driskill, Anita Bremeyer, and Doris Wheeler; and brothers, Tom Chaney, Lester Chaney, George Chaney and infant, Lewis Chaney. Graveside services will be at 1:00pm, Friday, March 9, 2007, at Park Hill Cemetery in Vancouver.
