Description	:	The funeral mass for Evelyn Hubert of Hecla, SD, will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Hecla, SD, with Father Roger Geditz as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a rosary service starting at 5:00 p.m. also at the church. Burial will be in the Hecla Cemetery at a later date. Evelyn Mucha Hubert, daughter of Francis and Mary (Paczkowski) Mucha was born February 4, 1919 at Freeborn, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. After graduating from high school, Evelyn attended Business School, and then worked for Gambel's/Skagway in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While living in Minneapolis, she met Stanley Hubert and they were married on May 11, 1946. They lived in Britton, Aberdeen, and Watertown, South Dakota and New London and Antigo, Wisconsin before moving to Hecla in 1991. Stanley passed away on April 3, 2002, and Evelyn continued to make her home in Hecla. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and she also enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening, and baking. Evelyn passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011, at her daughter's home in Phoenix, Arizona. She was 92 years old. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Marcella) Hubert, Hecla, SD, and James (Denise) Hubert, Larson, WI; three daughters, Shirley (Max) Owens, Rock Hill, SC, Marlene (Robert) Hofacker, Black Creek, WI, and Elizabeth "Bette" Hubert, Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Francis (Connie) Mucha, New Richland, MN; and two sisters, Lorayne Shurson, New Richland, MN, and Lavonne, Gaskill, Great Falls, MT. She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Justin (Charlie) Walgamuth and son Eli, Joy Barker, and Luke Hofacker and daughter Payton. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister Lorencie Shurson.
