Description	:	Evelyn N. Dalin, 93 of South Ridge Rd. West Saybrook Township died Wednesday (May 4th) at Saybrook Landing. She was born September 8, 1922 in Morgantown, West Virginia the daughter of James O. and Mittie C. (Poling) Fortney. She had worked for twenty years for the Ashtabula Area City Schools retiring in October of 1982 She is a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church; also a member of the Ashtabula Elks Auxiliary and the VFW Post #943 Auxiliary. Surviving her are three children, Shirley (Jeff) Petrunger of Geneva, Janet (Mike Turkal) Dalin of Punta Gorda, Florida and Lloyd Douglas (Dianne) Dalin of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons, Lee Petrunger and Kent Petrunger; a brother, Adrian Fortney of Madison, Ohio and a sister, Thelma Berg of Madison, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd A. Dalin in 1989, three brothers, Ralph, Howard and David Fortney; and two sisters, Sarah Williams and Genevieve Gehring. Funeral service will be Saturday (May 7th) at 11:00 AM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio with Rev. Michael Meranda of the Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Twp. Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers it would please Evelyn to have donations in her name to Tridia Hospice, 1933 Sate Route #45, Austinburg, Ohio 44010 Evelyn’s family wants to thank Saybrook Landing for the care they have given her the 7 years she was there, especially all the nurses and aides and to Tridia Hospice for their thoughtful and very loving attention to Evelyn.
