Description	:	Evelyn P. Roth, 90, of Mount Pleasant, formally of Wayland, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Park Place in Mount Pleasant. Born Jan. 2, 1922, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Miles August and Wilda Underhill Rukgaber. On Feb. 20, 1949, she married Orval D. Roth in Mount Pleasant. He died Feb. 14, 2007. Mrs. Roth taught several years in Wayland and Brighton. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and from Iowa Wesleyan College, where she majored in music. Born Jan. 2, 1922, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Miles August and Wilda Underhill Rukgaber. On Feb. 20, 1949, she married Orval D. Roth in Mount Pleasant. He died Feb. 14, 2007. Mrs. Roth taught several years in Wayland and Brighton. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and from Iowa Wesleyan College, where she majored in music. She was a member of Wayland Mennonite Church and Phi Mu sorority and served as assistant director for Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed playing the organ at church, reading, camping and wintering in Donna, Texas. Survivors include one son, Kenneth Roth of Urbandale; one daughter, Shirley Wandling of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Burial in North Hill Cemetery.
