WILLIAMSON SYRACUSE, Kan. - Evelyn Pauline Williamson, age 89, of Syracuse, Kan. passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at the Hamilton County Extended Care Unit in Syracuse. Evelyn was born Oct. 4, 1915 in Cedar Vale, Kan., the daughter of Ervin and Cora (Corner) Mattocks. She grew up and attended school in Cedar Vale. She marned Alfred Edmond "Ed" Williamson on July 11, 1935 in Cedar Vale. They lived in several states while following Ed's work, but moved to Syracuse in 1952. WILLIAMSON SYRACUSE, Kan. - Evelyn Pauline Williamson, age 89, of Syracuse, Kan. passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at the Hamilton County Extended Care Unit in Syracuse. Evelyn was born Oct. 4, 1915 in Cedar Vale, Kan., the daughter of Ervin and Cora (Corner) Mattocks. She grew up and attended school in Cedar Vale. She marned Alfred Edmond "Ed" Williamson on July 11, 1935 in Cedar Vale. They lived in several states while following Ed's work, but moved to Syracuse in 1952. While living in Cedar Vale, Evelyn worked as a waitress. She later worked for SRS in Syracuse and she owned a operated her own worm farm, which she packaged and shipped all over the United States. Evelyn enjoyed quilting, gardening, painting, reading, camping, traveling with Sam's RV Club, reading the Bible and her church activities. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, who died Dec. 29, 1995, her parents, two sisters, Ruby Waring and Edith Napier and a brother, Albia "Bus" Mattocks. Evelyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Syracuse, United Methodist Women, Women's Literacy Book Club, Bible Study Club and Sam's RV Club. Survivors include two sons, John Ed and wife Louise Williamson, Johnson, Kan. and Jim and wife Anita Williamson, Garden City, Kan., one sister, Isabelle Humphries, Grenola, Kan., brother-in-law, John Williamson and sister-in-law, Ann Williamson, both of Clarksville, Ark., six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, one great great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Syracuse, with Rev. William Fitzgerrel officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Evelyn Williamson Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. 7th Street, Garden City, KS 67846.
