Description	:	Evelyn V. Biedermann, 80, of Hiawatha, formerly of Volga, Iowa, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at the Hiawatha Care Center following a long illness. She was born on March 4, 1929, in Volga to Lawrence and Myra (Wells) Hulverson. Evelyn graduated from Volga High School with the Class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Earl Biedermann on August 14, 1950, in Strawberry Point. Two children were born to this union. Biedermann, 80, of Hiawatha, formerly of Volga, Iowa, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at the Hiawatha Care Center following a long illness. She was born on March 4, 1929, in Volga to Lawrence and Myra (Wells) Hulverson. Evelyn graduated from Volga High School with the Class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Earl Biedermann on August 14, 1950, in Strawberry Point. Two children were born to this union. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm north of Volga until Earl died in 1961. Evelyn and her children remained on the farm until 1967, when she bought a grocery store and moved to Troy Mills. On April 2, 1971, she became the Postmaster in Troy Mills in addition to running her grocery store. She served as Postmaster for twenty three years. Evelyn retired in ( ) and moved to Marion where she resided until the fall of 2005, when she moved to the Hiawatha Nursing Home. She loved to knit, do needlepoint, make quilts and play cards. Country music was also one of her favorites. Survivors include her children, Susan Black of Cedar Rapids; Jerry Biedermann of Marion; granddaughter, Ellen Black of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Lorraine Galbreath of Indianapolis, IN, Jean (Reginald "Bud") Gilbert of Edgewood, Jewell Chappell of Guttenberg; three sisters-in-law, LaVon Biederman of Elkader, Shirley Biedermann of California and Colleen Biedermann. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Gayle Biedermann; four brothers-in-law, Oliver Biedermann, Lloyd Biederman, LeRoy Biedermann, Louis Biedermann; Glenn Chappell, Marion Galreath and Derryl Leonhart and one sister-in-law, Helen Leonhart.
