Lambert, 90, of Germantown died July 23, 2004, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville. Born May 21, 1914, in Poolesville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Luhn Cubitt. She was the wife of the late James C. Lambert, who died in 1994. Mrs. Lambert and her family moved to a farm in Germantown in 1940 and she farmed there for 20 years. After leaving the farm, she was a substitute teacher, a waitress and cook at the Germantown Store. Later she worked for the Postal Service and retired in 1979 after 21 years of service as assistant postmaster. Her hobbies included gardening and reading. Survivors include five children, Rebecca Lambert of California, Patricia Lambert of Germantown, James Lambert and wife, Mary, of Poolesville, Donald Lambert and wife, Rhonda, of Mount Airy, Darryl and wife, Debbie, of Mount Airy; one brother, Donald Cubitt and wife, Kathryn, of Rockville; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Francis Cubitt, and one sister, Shirley Norris. Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. Burial will be in Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville. Arrangements were made by Hilton Funeral Home.
