Description	:	Everett Carlton Hendrikson, 28, a former Worth county boy, son of Oscar I. Hendrikson of Deer Creek township, died last Thursday at the St. James Hospital, Butte, Montana following an operation for appendicitis which he underwent on July 27. He had been sick three days prior to the operation. Hendrikson of Deer Creek township, died last Thursday at the St. James Hospital, Butte, Montana following an operation for appendicitis which he underwent on July 27. He had been sick three days prior to the operation. No word of his illness was received locally until news of the operation and his death coming three days later was a great shock to the members of his family. Funeral services were held Monday at the home of his brother, Pearl, in Deer Creek township, at one o'clock p.m. and at the Deer Creek Valley north church at two o'clock before a large congregation of relatives and friends. The Rev. Hans Fosness, pastor of the church, was in charge of the services assisted by the Rev. E. A. Henderson, of Whitewater, Wisconsin. Solos were given by Mrs. Peter Hanson and Mrs. A. N. Fenney and the Deer Creek church choir, directed by M. J. Rohne, sang two selections. There were beautiful floral offerings present, part of them being from friends in Butte, Montana. Burial was made in the London cemetery. Everett Carlton Hendrikson was born June 4, 1903, in Worth county, Iowa. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. O. I. Hendrikson, pioneer residents of Deer Creek township, who later moved to Boyceville, Wisconsin. His mother preceded him in death December 18, 1928. Hendrikson, pioneer residents of Deer Creek Township, who later moved to Boyceville, Wisconsin. His mother preceded him in death December 18, 1928. In the year 1903 he was baptized by the Rev. O.G.U. Siljan and at the age of fifteen years he was confirmed at the north Deer Creek Valley church by the Rev. Hans Fosness. Phillip Hendrickson and Clifford Stoen were baptized at the same ceremony and were also members of the same confirmation class in the renewal of their baptism covenants. He spent his boyhood years in this community until the spring of 1918, when he went to Boyceville, Wisconsin to join his parents who had moved their the previous fall. He graduated from the Boyceville High School with honors in 1924. He then attended the Dunn County Normal School at Menomonie, Wisconsin, graduating in 1925. For two years he taught public school near his home at Boyceville and was well liked by the pupils and parents. In 1927, he went to Montana where he accepted a position as a teacher at the State Orphan's home at Twin Bridges. In 1928 he was hired to serve as secretary of the institution and remained in that position for more than a year. He then returned home for a six month vacation and on his return to Montana accepted a position with a large mercantile concern at Butte. He remained in this position until his death on July 30, 1931, after undergoing an operation at the St. James hospital at Butte. He was 28 years, 1 month and 26 days of age at the time of his death. Funeral services at Butte were held Friday evening, July 31. He leaves to mourn his death, his father Oscar I. Hendrikson, four brothers, John E. Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, Pearl O. Northwood, Iowa, Hartwick and Sophus, Boyceville, Wisconsin; and four sisters, Mrs. Olga Prestegaard, Northwood; Mrs. Ida Cowles, Portage, Wisconsin; Mrs. Stella Jones, Boyceville, Wisconsin; Miss Nina Hendrikson, Boyceville, Wisconsin. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. C.I. Hendrikson, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hoage, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Koolmo, Mr. and Mrs. Helmer Hendrikson, Lawrence Hendrickson, Miss Minnie Gaard, Charlie Palmer, Boyceville, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hendrikson, Colfax, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Halver, LeRoy, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Eno Hendrikson, Albert Lea, Minnesota; the Rev. and Mrs. E. A. Henderson, Whitewater, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. J.O.S. Prestegaard and daughter, Charlotte, Mrs. Willis Hoffman, Mrs. George James, Hayward, Minnesota. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to relatives and friends who so kindly gave assistance, sympathy, and flowers at the death of our dearly loved son and brother.
