He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. -He married Ann C. Combs on Aug. 18, 1951, in South Sioux City. He was a pipe insulator and an owner of A. Davis Company in South Sioux City, retiring in 1997. -He was a member of First Lutheran Church. He became a member of the Asbestos Workers Local 57 in 1954, where he held various offices. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. -Survivors include his wife, Ann; two sons and their wives, Jeffrey L. and Glenda Davis and Matthew K. and Rita Davis, all of South Sioux City; two sisters, Darlene Clausen and Diane K. and her husband, Wayne E. Boyd, all of South Sioux City; and two grandchildren, Jaime A. and Nicholas Davis. -Pallbearers will be Wayne E. Boyd, Steve Clausen, Frank Combs, Nicholas Davis, Mike Simoni and Robert Watson. Honorary pallbearer will be Walt Sabasta. -Memorials in his name may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland, 224 Fourth Street, Sioux City, IA. 51101.
