Description	:	Everett Donald Hunter, 85, Minot, died December 27, 2004, in a Minot hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Everett was born November 25, 1919, in Minot to Pearl Iowa (Galusha) Hunter and George V. Hunter. He was raised in Minot and attended Roosevelt School and Minot High School. He worked as a taxi driver before serving in WWII as a medical corpsman with Company A of the 422nd Infantry of the US Army. He participated in the North African, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland and Central European Campaigns. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to Minot. He married Ruth Catherine Walker on January 12, 1949. He worked as a city bus driver, a truck driver for Gamble Robinson and a pickup-and-delivery driver for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railways. Everett was a talented artist in pencils, pastels, and oils, as well as a fine woodworker and jack-of-all-trades. He had a sharp wit and a keen sense of fairness and social justice. He served for many years as an officer in his Teamster's Local Union. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In recent years, he enjoyed playing pinochle with the guys at the Moose Lodge. Everett was preceded in death by his son, David; daughter, Gloria Jean; all six of his brothers and sisters; his grandsons, Greg and Keith Hunter; and his first wife, Thresa King.
