Description	:	Everett James Murch, 85, Jamestown, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at his home, under hospice care. Mr. Murch was born May 30, 1926, in Arthur, N.D., the son of Sidney J. and Alice A. (Keller) Murch. He lived on the family farm near Arthur until 1939 when they moved to a farm in Bloom Township, north of Jamestown. He attended Rose Valley School in Arthur and Jamestown High School, Jamestown. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. He served in the Pacific Theater until he was discharged on Aug. 11, 1946. Mr. Murch was born May 30, 1926, in Arthur, N.D., the son of Sidney J. and Alice A. (Keller) Murch. He lived on the family farm near Arthur until 1939 when they moved to a farm in Bloom Township, north of Jamestown. He attended Rose Valley School in Arthur and Jamestown High School, Jamestown. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. He served in the Pacific Theater until he was discharged on Aug. 11, 1946. The family moved to a farm south of Jamestown in Woodbury Township in 1947 where he worked with his father. He married Marcella Baker in 1952. They operated a dairy farm for many years. He was a member of the Minnesota Milk Producers Association and helped to organize the Milk Producers Association of North Dakota where he received a lifetime achievement award in 1997. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, where he served on the church council for many years. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Steven (Peggy), Laurel, Mont., and Lee (Jane) and Lyndon, both Jamestown; a daughter, Alice Laber, Jamestown; five sisters, June Winings, Detroit Lakes, Minn., Joyce Telken, Starke, Fla., Yvonne Sevik, Grand Junction, Colo., Cecelia (Bernard) Sundeen, Cleveland, N.D., and Phyllis (Edward) Hodgson, Roosevelt, Minn.; a stepsister, Ardell Goff, Jamestown; a stepbrother, DuWayne (JoAnn) Perry, Bumpass, Va.; a sister-in-law, Betty Murch, Grand Junction; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Edna; two brothers, Sidney and Ernie; two sisters, Esther and Betty Lou; and a stepsister, Annabelle Church. Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. James Naumann officiating. Prayer service: 7:30 p.m.
