Description	:	Everett L. Colton, Sr., age 93, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away December 13, 2010, at the Amelia House. Everett was born January 22, 1917, in Logan, Iowa, to the late Lewis A. and Nettie (Freeman) Colton. He was a Civil Air Patrol pilot during WWII and served in the Iowa National Guard. Everett married Lois E. Meadows on January 15, 1937, in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with five children: Fran, Everett, Jr., Douglas, Kathleen and Marilyn. They were blessed with five children: Fran, Everett, Jr., Douglas, Kathleen and Marilyn. Everett was the inventory Manager of the Formica Department at OHARCO Distribution for 48 years retiring in 1982. He was a life-time member of Broadway Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and past treasurer; Bluffs City Masonic Lodge #71; Tangier Shrine of Omaha, Council Bluffs Shrine Club, where he served as past-president; former member of Kanesville Kiwanis Club; and Red Cross volunteer. Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Lois E. Colton in 2007; sisters, Opal Simon and Margaret Pearce; brothers, Kenneth and Elmer Colton. He is survived by his daughters, Fran Wright, of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Kathleen Mindrup, of Council Bluffs, Marilyn (Billy) Reagan, of Phoenix, Ariz.; sons, Everett (Josephine) Colton, Jr., of Omaha, Neb., Douglas (Felita) Colton, of Brookfield, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Laura Potter, of Omaha; nieces and nephews. Masonic service conducted by Bluffs City Lodge #71 AF&AM, Thursday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation with the family present until 8 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill- Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Friday, 11 a.m., at the mortuary with Rev. Jann Osborn officiating. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery with a lunch following at Broadway Christian Church.
