Description	:	WETMORE --- Everett William Miller, 81, Wetmore, who died in Thursday, April 25, 2002, at a Topeka hospital. Mr. Miller was a retired carpenter. He also combined the first fire and police department in Kansas, and he served on a Federal Task Force during the Cold War. He was sent out-of-state for extensive training to ensure the continuity of government in case of large- scale nuclear attack on the United States. Read More	WETMORE --- Everett William Miller, 81, Wetmore, who died in Thursday, April 25, 2002, at a Topeka hospital. Mr. Miller was a retired carpenter. He also combined the first fire and police department in Kansas, and he served on a Federal Task Force during the Cold War. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was classified as an atomic veteran in the Pacific. He was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Horton, the son of Ed and Arleva Earhart Miller. He had lived in Malakoff, Texas, and Holton. Mr. Miller was a 50-year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 34 in Holton, Post No. 1367 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Holton, and a former member of the Lions Clubs in Wetmore and in South Padre, Texas, where he was a charter member. He also was a member of the Baptist church. He married Patsy Ruth Martin on July 4, 1946, in Dodge City. She survives. Other survivors include two brothers, Robert Miller, Tampa, and Raymond Miller, Palestine, Texas; and a sister, Viola Sharp, Holton. Mr. Miller was cremated. No services are scheduled. Inurnment in Holton Cemetery will be private. Mercer Family Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements. Topeka Capital-Journal, The, Apr 28, 2002
