He enjoyed spending time at the beach and in the mountains, but was happiest when he was home. Everette is predeceased by his brother, J. Carroll Taylor; sister-in-law, Verna Mae Taylor; brother-in-law, Ray Purser and son-in-law, Gaynor Strand. He is survived by his wife, Linda Melton Taylor; daughter, Anita Gayle Taylor Strand Drye (Bobby); son, Steven “Stevie” Taylor; granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Johnson (Michael); great-grandchildren, Damon, Cayden and Riley; sister, Phyllis Purser; sisters-in-law,... An open visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 11:00 am until 11:45 am. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at noon with Pastor Don Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is serving the Taylor family.
