Description	:	Eythal was born on March 30, 1927, in Summit, SD, to Charles and Florence (Swayze) Ward. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke's in Germantown Township. She attended rural school in Roberts County and graduated from Summit High School in 1946. Read More	Eythal was born on March 30, 1927, in Summit, SD, to Charles and Florence (Swayze) Ward. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke's in Germantown Township. She attended rural school in Roberts County and graduated from Summit High School in 1946. Eythal was a member of St. Luke's Germantown until it merged with Our Savior's Lutheran Church in South Shore. On June 30, 1946, she married Lester Kannas in South Shore. Following their marriage, the couple lived on a farm north of Watertown, then moved to a farm west of South Shore in 1961 until moving to South Shore in 1973. Eythal was employed as a nurse's aide with Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home, Interlakes Communtiy Action, and later Prairie Lakes Hospital until she retired in 1989. She then operated a day care center in her home in South Shore, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She then moved to Watertown in 2003, residing at the Townview Apartments.
