Description	:	There is a problem with the birth year of Ezekiel Hall, son of Ezekiel and Frances E (Tucker) Hall. The tombstone of Ezekiel Hall says birth 29 Nov 1850. It should be 1830. His obit (see below) says he was 82 when he died in 1912. That would make him born 1830. The censuses even though they are usually off a couple of years, are consistent with the 1830 birth and not 1850. The tombstone of Louvenia (Hall) Hall says born 1860. This is also incorrect. She was seven years old in the 1860 census, and her age on other census is consistent with a birth date of 1853 not 1860. Louvenia Hall was the daughter of William Allen Hall and Eliza Jane (McAdams) Hall. Ezekiel's obit gives Louvenia's father as R W Hall which is incorrect. Census 1860 age 7 1870 age 16 1880 age 23 1900 age 45 1910 age 51 She died 1911 The tombstones for Ezekiel, Louvenia, their daughter Mallie and son W Ezekiel, and W Ezekiel's wife Eula (Stuart) Hall are similar and seem to have been purchased at a later date. Perhaps they were all purchased when Malllie Hall died in 1977. They are together in a plot with a large stone with the name Hall. Other records such as "Book of the Dead" and cemetery surveys got the dates from the tombstones, so they are no help. I am not sure about the birth months for Ezekiel and Louvenia. The 1900 census has him born Jan. the stone says Nov. 29. The census has her born Mar. and the stone has born Aug. 29. Since there are so many Ezekiels, I will give the line as I have it. 1. Ezekiel Hall b 1792 son of John and Ursula (Gregg) Hall 2. Ezekiel Hall b 1830 son of (1) Ezekiel and Frances Evelyn (Tucker) Hall. 3. William Ezekiel Hall b 1893 son of (2) Ezekiel and Louvenia (Hall) Hall, married Eula Stuart. Ezekiel Hall From the Anderson Intelligencer, May 20, 1912 EZEKIEL HALL DEAD Passed Away Suddenly Last Friday Afternoon Mr. Ezekiel Hall died suddenly at his home in Hall Township last Friday afternoon of acute indigestion. He had been about his duties as usual when he was seized with a sudden attack, and died in a short time. Mr. Hall was 82 years of age, and was born within a mile of the place where he died. he was a son of the late Ezekiel Hall, and after he was over 30 years of age married a Miss Hall, daughter of R.W. Hall who died a year ago. Two children survive him. Mr. Hall served honorably in the Confederate service, and was a member of Company F, Fourth S. C. Volunteers. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Rocky River Baptist Church of which he was a member, conducted by the Pastor, Reverend Mr. Stone, in the presence of a large congregation of friends and relatives.
