Description	:	Second son of Hezekiah James Reames and Elizabeth Johnson Reames. Brother of: Abel Thomas, Robert Martin, Josiah F., and Melissa. Married Pearla A. McLoskey 10-27-1867. He was a Civil War veteran. The following is from "History of Logan County, Ohio" (Chicago, O.L. Baskin & Co., 1880): "Ezra was among the number, who volunteered his services in the defense of his country, and served three years in the regular army, enlisting in July 1863 in Co. D. 13th U.S.I., and there was no better or braver soldier than Ezra, being always ready for duty, and ever ready to obey... Read More	Second son of Hezekiah James Reames and Elizabeth Johnson Reames. Baskin & Co., 1880): "Ezra was among the number, who volunteered his services in the defense of his country, and served three years in the regular army, enlisting in July 1863 in Co. D. 13th U.S.I., and there was no better or braver soldier than Ezra, being always ready for duty, and ever ready to obey the orders of his superiors. He came out of the service with as bright a record as any lad who donned the blue, his commanding officer giving him credit as being an active participant in the following named engagements: Chickasaw Bayou, Arkansas Post, Rolling Fork, Haines Bluff, Champion Hill, Vicksburg, Siege of Vicksburg, Colliersville and Mission Ridge. At the battle of Colliersville, he came out with seven bullet holes in his coat, only one of the bullets drawing blood. On October 27, 1867 he was married to Pearla McLoskey, who was born February 2, 1844 in Dearborn County, Indiana, and is a daughter of John and Amy (Fisk) McLoskey, who were both of Dearborn County. Five children have been born unto Ezra and his wife, but four are living: Evangeline, born September 25, 1868; Florence M., December 25, 1872; Webster J., August 9, 1877, and Edna P., August 16, 1880. Ezra's mother Elizabeth was born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia on December 23, 1811, a daughter of Abel and Mary Johnson who came west in 1835. Elizabeth was married to Hezekiah Reames in November 1837, and by him had five children: Abel, Ezra, Robert, Josiah and Melissa. All of the boys served in the late war and returned home."
