Read More	1870-1955 - EZRA JUNE THACKREY Published March 4, 1955, in The Centerville Daily Iowegian Ezra June Thackrey, son of Jacob and Nancy Thackrey was born in Napoleon, Ind., Nov. 17, 1870, and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Margarete Ruby in Numa, Iowa, on Feb. 22, 1955, at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 6 days. He was united in marriage to Emma Bell McCuen. To this union were born three children: Margarete Ruby of Numa, Iowa, Clifford and Sarah Jane, deceased. He leaves to mourn, a daughter, Margarete Ruby of Numa, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Wilma Thackrey of Davenport, Iowa, twelve grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Bell and two children, Clifford and Sarah Jane. He came to Iowa at the age of 21, working for Mr. Norris on a farm north of Numa, later making his home with the Robert White family east of Centerville—until he married—then coming to Numa, bought his home southeast of Numa. He united with the Methodist Church for which he has devoted his life. He was a faithful husband and father, and a loyal neighbor. Dear father how we will miss you, Because you were so kind; But you have gone to the loved ones, Who were always in your mind. Then we say goodbye dear father, Your memory to us will be sweet And we'll strive with the help of the Master, You and other loved ones to meet.
