Description	:	Ezra P Carpenter was born in Wisconsin, March 7, 1846. He went with his parents to Iowa when a small boy. Was married in Feb. 1868 to Miss Martha Hayner, who preceded him to the Great Beyond in 1913. Early in the married life they both embraced the Christian Faith, joining the Church of God, later affiliating themselves with the M. E. Church. To their union were bon seven children all of whom survive him: J. E., John R., Chas. B., Harry S., Mrs. L. L. Harn, all of Chelan; Mrs. F. A. Daniels of Wenatchee, and Mrs. R. H.... Read More	Ezra P Carpenter was born in Wisconsin, March 7, 1846. He went with his parents to Iowa when a small boy. Was married in Feb. 1868 to Miss Martha Hayner, who preceded him to the Great Beyond in 1913. Early in the married life they both embraced the Christian Faith, joining the Church of God, later affiliating themselves with the M. E. Church. To their union were bon seven children all of whom survive him: J. E., John R., Chas. B., Harry S., Mrs. L. L. Harn, all of Chelan; Mrs. F. A. Daniels of Wenatchee, and Mrs. R. H. Powers of Montana. Also 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Being too young to enlist in the Civil War he drove fright trains and stage across the plains to Denver during that period. After his marriage he farmed for several years in Iowa also was carpenter by trade, and 25 years ago drove overland to the west. Located in Chelan 20 years ago, where he had resided since. Died Sep. 29, 1921, at the home of his son, John, after an illness of several weeks. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Attenborough, of the M. E. Church, and gave a very comforting talk. He was laid to rest in the Masonic cemetery. Many beautiful flowers were sent as token of the esteem in which he was held.
