Description	:	WAYLAND-Ezra Wittmer, 84, died Tuesday evening at the Washington County Hospital where he had been a patient since suffering a stroke at his home in Wayland Oct. 19. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wayland Mennonite Church with the Rev. Walter Neufeld in charge. Burial will be in North Hill Cemetery. The immediate family will meet friends at the Zehr Funeral Home in Wayland from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Wittmer was born Sept. 1, 1883 in Washington County, a son of Peter Eicher Wittmer and Magdalens Schantz. He had lived in Wayland since 1941 and before that on farms in the area. He was a carpenter and brick mason, retiring in 1960. He was a member of the Wayland Mennonite Church. On Dec. 12, 1912, he married Nellie Davison who survives. Other survivors include three sons and a daughter:David of Burlington, Mary of Chicago, Daryl of Muscatine, and Duane of Wichita, Kan.; also five grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Otto Frey of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Lydia Krabill and Mrs. August Zieglowsky, both of Wayland; three brothers: Sam Wittmer of Wayland, Noah Wittmer of Mt. Pleasant, and Dr. Franklin Wittmer of Houghton, Mich.
