She was preceded in death by her parents, Ola and Margaret (Mulbrook) Gildersleeve; husband, Hubert in 2002; sister, Doris Arlene Gildersleeve in infancy; and brother-in-law, Clinton Smith. Bayonne was a graduate of Grinnell High School in 1942. Bayonne was a member of the Metz Church, she attended the Marion St. United Methodist Church in Boone, and she was a member of the Sugar Grove Grange. Bayonne loved and enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and other needle work, gardening for her family and traveling. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Marion St. United Methodist Church or to the Metz Church or to Ames Hospice, memorials may be left at the funeral home.
