Description	:	Eileen Joy, daughter of Ralph and Dortha (Swartz) Aikin, Was born on December 19, 1926, at Nelson, Nebraska. She grew up in Nelson, was educated here and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1944. Communities she had lived in besides Nelson were Fall City, Nebraska, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. She married Robert C. Joy on December 24, 1958, in Nelson. Eileen was a member of Nelson Community United Church of Christ and planned to attend the Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Communities she had lived in besides Nelson were Fall City, Nebraska, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. She married Robert C. Joy on December 24, 1958, in Nelson. Eileen was a member of Nelson Community United Church of Christ and planned to attend the Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority (a community service sorority). Eileen was so happy with her job as a dispatcher with the Nuckolls County Sheriff's Department. She was involved in many civic and community projects that are too numerous to mention. One of her special highlights was being around and helping the young people of Nelson. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Robert, who died in 1982. Survivors include her three children, Deborah Moeller and her husband Roger of Colorado Springs, Colorado, James and his wife Judy, and Chris, all of Lincoln; her brother, Ramon Aikin of Norwalk, California; and five grandchildren, Jeremy Moeller, Gabriel Moeller, Nathan Moeller, Michael Joy, and Ember Michelle Joy. Eileen lost her life in an automobile – pick up accident two miles east of Colby, Kansas, on Highway 24 on October 12, and 1991. She was 64 years, 9 months, and 23 days old. Funeral services were held Wednesday the, October 16, at 2:30 p.m. from the Community United Church of Christ in Nelson with Rev. Royce Buchtel and Rev. Robert Giles officiating. Music was provided by soloist Debi Garrison singing "In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace" with Ivan Schafer as organist and accompanist. Honorary pallbearers were her five grandchildren. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, October 17, 1991; pg. 5
