Description	:	William Boche, 52, died Wednesday morning while crossing the Elkhorn River on thin ice "to the camp of his cousin, Fred Boche." Apparently he decided to see his cousin first before going to town. He was warmly clothed. He was not missed until Wednesday evening. His body was found a distance down the river from where he felled in later on Thursday afternoon. He was survived by his wife, 3 sons all young men, 1 daughter a bride of 2 months, Mrs. William H. Bockelman who lives 4 miles northeast of Pierce. She was married on Dec. 4, 1907.... Bockelman who lives 4 miles northeast of Pierce. She was married on Dec. 4, 1907. He also was survived by his brother Herman. The funeral will be held Sunday with burial in New Lutheran cemetery. "A fish bone lodged in Mrs. Boche's throat. She would not have a physician but members of her family tried to relieve her. Infection is said to have set in, death resulting." They were pioneer settlers in Madison county in 1866. The Boches were of a coast fishing people. They came from the north German coast.. They settled along the Elkhorn River 3 miles southeast of Norfolk. William Boche, sr., died a year ago. Mr. Boche, sr. left 2 sons: William Boche who drowned this week and Herman.
