Description	:	Mrs. Purser, age 97, passed away peacefully Friday evening July 28th, 2006, surrounded by many people that she had touched with her love of life. She was born in Union County, NC, her late parents were Mr. James Ivan Griffin and Henrietta Little Purser. Union County, NC has lost one of its great teachers and lover of children this day. Mrs. Griffin taught for over 40 years in the elementary school system in Union County...and if that wasn't enough she taught many years as a Sunday School Teacher at the First Baptist Church of Monroe. Her late loving husband was Mr.... Read More	Mrs. Purser, age 97, passed away peacefully Friday evening July 28th, 2006, surrounded by many people that she had touched with her love of life. She was born in Union County, NC, her late parents were Mr. James Ivan Griffin and Henrietta Little Purser. Union County, NC has lost one of its great teachers and lover of children this day. Mrs. Griffin taught for over 40 years in the elementary school system in Union County...and if that wasn't enough she taught many years as a Sunday School Teacher at the First Baptist Church of Monroe. Her late loving husband was Mr. James Clayton Purser who also was a teacher and later a principal in Union County. She also had a love of water color painting and belonged to the Garden Club for many years. She had a real gift of teaching the Bible and she now walks with the Author of the Book. Mrs. Purser is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Fae Griffin Purser will be held at Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum Monday, July 31st 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be The Rev. Dr. Ron Glover from the First Baptist Church of Monroe. Her family will meet friends after the service. The family has requested that memorials may be made to one of the following organizations, Hospice of Union County, 700 Roosevelt Blvd West, Monroe, NC. The First Baptist Church of Monroe, 109 Morrow Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 or a charity of one's choice. McEwen Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monroe is serving the Purser Family.
