Description	:	April 1, 1968 - Carroll Daily Times - Mrs. Frank (Fannie) Yender, 91, of Carroll died about 8:45 a.m. Sunday at St. Anthony Nursing Home after a two month illness. She was well-known for her philanthropy throughout the city and particularly in St. Lawrence parish, having donated $170,000 for the auditorium gymnasium which is a part of the parish school plant. "Yender Auditorium", named for Mrs. Yender and the late Mr. Yender, was built during the pastorate of the late Very Rev. Msgr. Edward V. Vollmer and was dedicated on July 26, 1964. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Lawrence Church by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry B. Karhoff. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday; at 3 p.m. Tuesday by the Legion of Mary; and again at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Yender was born Feb. 2, 1877, in Clinton County, the daughter of Frank and Mary Cawietzel. In 1878 she moved with her parents to Early and made her home there until her marriage to Mr. Yender took place in St. Joseph's Church at Schaller on Oct. 4, 1904. They lived first on a farm north of Lidderdale, later farming at several locations in Carroll and Sac Counties. In the early 1940's they retired and moved to 1515 North Carroll Street, Carroll. Mr. Yender died May 12, 1961, and she continued to live in her home until entering St. Anthony Nursing Home when it opened several years ago. She was a member of St. Lawrence Church, the Ladies Guild of the parish and the Legion of Mary. Mrs. Yender is survived by two sisters, Sr. M. (Ida) Antonia S.M., Omaha, and Mrs. Catherine McKenna, a resident of St. Anthony Nursing Home. Besides her husband, three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
