Description	:	The funeral for Fannie DuShane, 99, of Rugby, formerly of York, was held Mon. at 11 a.m. at the York Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the York Cemetery in the spring. She died Jan. 6, 1994 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Rev. Clarence Stanley officiated. Mayme Silliman was organist & Nancy Silliman was soloist. Pallbearers were Tommy Moller, Curtis Britsch, Lyle Long, Gordon Skaar, Simon Whalen & Arnold Myhre. The Anderson Funeral Home of Rugby was in charge of arrangements. Fannie DuShane was born March 17, 1894 in Benson County to James & Florence Bunker Johnson. She attended rural schools near York. She married Clem DuShane Dec. 19, 1923 in Minnewaukan. They farmed north of Leeds. In June of 1926 she bought the York Telephone Co. & operated it from 1930 until her retirement many years later. He died Dec. 7, 1970. She moved to the Haaland Home in Rugby in 1987 & later to the Long Term Care Facility at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bryce (Shirley) Cascaden of Grand Forks; 2 grandsons; & 3 sisters-in-law, Golda Johnson of Seattle, Wash., Mabel Johnson of Cavalier & Carrie Johnson in California. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, William on June 1, 1979; 4 brothers, Tom, Jake, George & Jay; & 3 sisters, Myrtle, Lillie & Greta. Obituary submitted by Curtis Yri
