In her weakened condition she was unable to withstand the shock. For many years Mrs. Kingsley resided in York. For slightly more than two years she resided in Lincoln. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Helen L. Brott of Lincoln, one grand-daughter, Miss Patricia Brott of Lincoln and a step daughter, Mrs. W. H. Dean of York. The body is being returned to York today. Funeral arrangements had not been completed late this afternoon. (31 May 1941 York Daily News Times) MRS. FANNIE KINGSLEY A life history of 93 years was closed by an unseen hand when Mrs. Fannie Ellen Kingsley died in a Lincoln hospital Tuesday morning. Death ensued as the direct cause of a fall. In attempting to get out of bed a few days ago, she fell and broke her leg. This injury, coupled with a fractured hip she sustained about three years ago, was too severe for her weakened and agd condition. Mrs. Kingsley was one of the early residents of York. Her husband, Johnathan Cotton Kingsley, was a former president of the Firt National Bank. In recent years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Helen Brott. The Brotts have lived in Omaha and most recently in Lincoln. Besides her daughter, Mrs. Helen Brott, she is survived by a step daughter, Mrs. Will Dean, and a grand-daughter, Miss Patricia Bott, of Lincoln. Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon in the chapel of Metz mortuary. Rev. Kenneth Reeves of the Presbyterian church is in charge. Burial in Greenwood.
