Description	:	Mrs. O. M. Fewell died at Mercy Hospital in Valley City at 1:30 p.m. last Monday, September 11, after having been a patient there for two weeks. Death was caused by hardening of the arteries and a heart ailment of many years’ standing. Death was caused by hardening of the arteries and a heart ailment of many years’ standing. Though not well for the past few months, Mrs. Fewell’s condition became serious only a few days before taken to the hospital and from the very first after her arrival at the hospital, doctors held out no hope for her recovery. Mrs. Fewell nee Fannie Holmes, was born on a farm near Wedron, Illinois on the 8t h day of July, 1877, and was 62 years, 2 months and 3 days old when she passed away. The place of her birth, the parental farm, continued to be her home through childhood, rural school days and into young womanhood. On the 4th day of December, 1900, she was united in marriage to Mr. Fewell. The couple settled on a rented farm near Wedron and lived there for a number of years. Having previously purchased the former John Reinehr farm, a mile and a half north of Litchville, the family came to North Dakota twenty eight years ago to establish a home on the newly acquired farm and has lived there ever since. During the succeeding years, the place has been built up into one of the nicest and best equipped farmsteads in the community. For this, the deceased deserves much credit for she was ever a hardworking and thrifty woman. The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Reformed Church in Litchville. The Rev. A. H. Mattheis, of Lockhart, Minnesota, former pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church south of town, will officiate. Special musical numbers, in duet form, will be rendered by Mrs. Nels Nelson and Mrs. L. E. Jongeward of two of Mrs. Fewell’s favorite hymns, “Face to Face,” and “Lead Kindly Light.” Hans Justesen, John Dunham, Oscar Larson, Tob Olson, Henry Verduin and J. A. Dingeldein will be the pall bearers, and the remains will be laid to rest in Woodbine Cemetery at Valley City. Surviving are the sorrowing husband and two sons, John and Russell, all of this community, two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Ormsby, of Centerville, Illinois, and Mrs. Margaret Dominy, of Serena, Illinois, and one grandchild, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Fewell. The bereaved family has the sympathy of all people of the community in their great and irreparable loss. Published in the Litchville Bulletin, Litchville, North Dakota, September 15, 1939.
