Description	:	Mrs. Fannie Wisler Cameron, former Defiance teacher and widow of the late J.P. Cameron, died at 6:40 a.m. today, December 5, 1946 in her home, 626 Washington avenue. Funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Paul Methodist church. Rev. Joseph C. Richards will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Th remains are at Smith Bros. funeral home. Born July 6, 1857, in Tiffin township, Mrs. Cameron was a daughter of the late John and Caroline Wisler. She began teaching in rural schools at age 16. When she was about 18, she came to Defiance with her parents. Continuing as a teacher in the city's primary grades, later the eighth grade, she devoted 25 years to the classroom. On November 1, 1898, she was married to J.P. Cameron, Defiance attorney. They spent much of their married life in the residence at 643 Jefferson avenue. After Mr. Cameron's death in 1927, Mrs. Cameron continued to reside there until May 1943. Since then she has lived with her sister, Mrs. Katherine Sites, she is the only immediate survivor. Mrs. Cameron for many years was a leader in St. Paul Methodist Church. She had served in numerous church offices, and also for 26 years was district treasurer of the Missionary Society, now merged with the Women's Society of Christian Service. In 1910, Mrs. Cameron was one of the organizers of the Defiance chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and served as its first worthy matron for the seventh district, O. E. S. She also was a member of Mutual Improvement Circle, literary club. Friends were asked not to send flowers.
