However: “The following is from the St. Johnsbury Caledonian of Nov. 23: "Mrs. Fannie Bean Standish died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. N. Drew on Portland street. Monday night. She had been in feeble health for several years but was confined to her bed only during the last seven months. She was born in Glover, the daughter of Samuel and Fannie Bean, and was 83 years old. She had been in feeble health for several years but was confined to her bed only during the last seven months. She was born in Glover, the daughter of Samuel and Fannie Bean, and was 83 years old. Of a family of ten children she was the seventh to die. On Feb. 17, 1857, she was married to Edward Standish in Canada and he died 36 years ago. Most of her life has been spent in Glover and nearby places and for the past 19 years has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Drew, 13 of which have been passed in St. Johnsbury She was a member of the Episcopal church in Canada, but was not identified with other societies. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Allen of St. Johnsbury Center, Mrs. Carrie Bean of Wheelock and one brother, Freeman Bean of Glover. She also left four children, Mrs. Drew, C. E. Standish of Coventry; F. C. Standish of California, and Mrs. George Chapman of West Springfield, Mass., besides eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at her late home this forenoon, conducted by Rev. S. G. Barnes and interment will be in the Glover cemetery where there are buried five generations of her family.” (Orleans County Monitor, 11/30/1910)
