Her home has always been in this county with the exception of about five years during which time she and her husband lived on the Missouri side of Upton, Iowa. Her home has always been in this county with the exception of about five years during which time she and her husband lived on the Missouri side of Upton, Iowa. Fanny came to Cantril with her parents in the year 1873. This was her home until her marriage. She was married to Simeon Teter on Dec. 16, 1885, and in the Spring of '86 moved with him to the farm. In 1893 they returned to Cantril and since that time she had an important part in the church life and social life of that place. When Sister Teter was but nine years old she was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and has ever lived a faithful consistent Christian. At the time of her death she was organist at the Methodist church in Cantil(sp) which position she had most efficiently filled for twenty years excepting the time when she lived on the farm. While there she was organist at Upton. Since the death of Sister Viello Reynolds in 1901 Sister Teter had been superintendent of our Junior League. No one could have been more faithful and efficient than has she. Her work among the Juniors will live through all eternity. She was also a diligent worker in the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society and faithfully attended to the work of that society in our church. She was a true and loving daughter, a helpful and sympathetic wife, a kind neighbor, a womanly woman, a devoted Christian. Sister Teter had not been well for some time but her illness did not take a serious form until Christmas night. She passed peacefully away on Jan. 2, 1903. She leaves a father, mother, husband, and Marion to whom she had given a mother's care for the last eight years. She is gone but her works will follow her. Blessed is her memory. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. George L. Minear, on Sunday Jan. 4. the floral emblems presented by Junior League, the Ladies Aid Society the Choir, the Epworth League and by individuals showed something of the esteem in which she was held.
