Description	:	Mr. Fax L “Jack” Williams, age 88, a resident of Custer Street in Belington, departed this life Wednesday afternoon January 6, 2016 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born September 4, 1927 at Junior, WV a son of the late Fax and Holly Cooper Williams. On December 27, 1945 he was united in marriage at Junior, WV, to the former Mary Elizabeth Coontz who preceded him in death on May 4, 2012. Read More	Mr. Fax L “Jack” Williams, age 88, a resident of Custer Street in Belington, departed this life Wednesday afternoon January 6, 2016 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born September 4, 1927 at Junior, WV a son of the late Fax and Holly Cooper Williams. On December 27, 1945 he was united in marriage at Junior, WV, to the former Mary Elizabeth Coontz who preceded him in death on May 4, 2012. He is survived by two children; Richard “Ric” Williams and wife Valerie of Belington, and Nancy Snider and husband Dick of Belington, one brother; Thomas L. Williams of Elkins, one Aunt; Hope Caplinger of Elkins, two grandchildren; Kimberly Isner of Candler, North Carolina, and Sara Coberly of Belington. Also surviving are two great grandsons; Payton Isner and Kaleb Corder, and a whole host of friends, cousins, and nieces, and nephews. Mr. Williams was a 1944 Graduate of the Belington High School and was a veteran of the US Army during WWII having served mainly in Sicily. He was self-employed as the owner and operator of Williams Amoco filling station in Belington for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 96 of Belington; he formerly attended the Asbury United Methodist Church in Belington where he was active in the Methodist Men’s Group. He was also formerly active in the Belington Little League, and he was a charter member of the Belington Lions Club. Jack enjoyed traveling to Florida during the winter months in his RV alongside his loving wife Mary. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be greatly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday January 9, 2016; per Jack’s request his remains will be cremated. Interment of his cremains will be in the Fraternal Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family ask memorial contributions be made to American Legion post #96 of Belington P.O. Box 836 Belington, WV 26250. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Fax L “Jack” Williams. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com
