Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of the arrangements. Faye was born on August 19, 1936 in Minden, Nebraska to Charlie and Susan (Favinger) Keedle. She graduated from Axtell High School in 1953. Faye married Melvin Reiss of Campbell, NE on October 21, 1953. To this union three sons and a daughter were born. Faye was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Minden. She sang in the choir and was chairman of the annual Rummage Sale at the church for many years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and embroidery and in the later years counted cross-stitch projects, which she displayed at the fair. Faye enjoyed plants and gardening. Sometimes she would discover a plant she found intriguing. She would obtain a cutting or a young plant and nurture it into full size and see what would develop. Always keeping her hands busy. She and Melvin enjoyed traveling sometimes in their camper and sometimes on bus adventures. She and Melvin retired in 1978. Survivors include her husband, Melvin of Minden; her children, Lymon Reiss and wife, Connie of Kearney, Carmen Schutte and husband, Michael of Kansas City, MO, Myron Reiss and wife, Vickie of Council Bluffs, IA and Delwin Reiss and wife, Karen of Wichita, KS; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret (Peggy) Brooks of Minden and Nancy Bus of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
