Description	:	On April 21, 1932, Faye Ann Buckner was born to Faye Pauline Ungles and James Harvey Buckner. Faye Ann was joined three years later by her brother whom she dearly loved, Russell Paul. Faye Ann was born and raised in Billings. She graduated from Billings (Senior) High School in 1951. Faye worked at Mountain Bell Telephone Company out of high school and became a supervisor. Faye met her husband Henry (Bud) Schaffer and they married Feb. 27, 1954. Her bridesmaid, Gladys Houser, remained one of her good friends through her life. She and Bud went on to raise four daughters (Ann, Jodi, Kris, Jami) and enjoy 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She often had her children and grandchildren look for rainbows after a storm, the moon to make a wish, and take joy in the beauty of a flower. Faye loved music. Through her life she was involved in her school plays, community plays, and choirs. Her first public solo was at the age of 5. During high school she was a member of Jobs Daughter. Faye and Bud enjoyed square dancing when their girls were young. Faye had a passion for creating and observing beautiful things. She enjoyed watercolor painting and was dedicated to her gardens. Faye is survived by her husband of 57 years, Henry "Bud" Schaffer. She is also survived by her daughters, Ann Clifford and her children, Cori (Jamie Lynn), Brandon (Ashley), Bret, Jake, Sam, Josh and Elizabeth, all of Minneapolis, Jodi Schaffer and her daughter, Stephanie, of Seattle, and her son Corbin (Brittney) of Park City, Kris Schaffer Urlacher (Scott) and their children Annie, Jimmy and Katie, all of Billings, Sarah of Nashville and Samuel of Boston, Jami Schaffer Jirak (Timothy) and their children Ayden and Audrey of Wayzata, Minn. Faye also has eight great-grandchildren. We would like to thank Mom's many friends that visited her. We also would like to thank St. Vincent's 5th floor nursing staff. They were incredibly wonderful and a special thanks goes out to Dr. Rachel Gaidys. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, from 10 a.m. up to the time of the Vigil, which will be at 7 p.m., at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Ave., Billings. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, at noon at St. Patrick Cathedral, at 215 N. 31st. With regret and love, we say goodbye to Faye - wife, mother, grandmother, gardener, friend.
