Description	:	FARMINGTON -- Faye Colburn Voter, 93, of Farmington, passed away June 4, 2008, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center. Faye was born March 19, 1915, a daughter of Frank and Laura (Sprague) Colburn. She was a graduate of Farmington High School and Bliss Business College, Auburn. Warren Sumner Voter and Faye Colburn were married Nov. 3, 1935, and had two children, Arthur and Brenda. They resided on a farm in Wilton several years before moving to Voter Hill Farm to become engaged in farming with Warren's father. Read More	FARMINGTON -- Faye Colburn Voter, 93, of Farmington, passed away June 4, 2008, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center. Faye was born March 19, 1915, a daughter of Frank and Laura (Sprague) Colburn. She was a graduate of Farmington High School and Bliss Business College, Auburn. Warren Sumner Voter and Faye Colburn were married Nov. 3, 1935, and had two children, Arthur and Brenda. They resided on a farm in Wilton several years before moving to Voter Hill Farm to become engaged in farming with Warren's father. They eventually took over the entire operation of the business, as his parents retired. Faye's activities were varied. She was a former member of the Maine State Grange Home Economics Committee; was past master and past lecturer of the Farmington Grange and was a member of Excelsior Pomona, and National Granges. Faye was a member of the Farmington Grange receiving her 75-year pin. She was a past president of the West Farmington Literary Society, was a member of the Federated Club and the Red Schoolhouse Extension Group. She was very active in Farm Bureau work and was chairman of the women's, banquet and membership committees. In 1971 she received a certificate for outstanding work as a county information director. She was a former secretary of the Maine Maple Syrup Association and member of the Maine, New England and National Milking Shorthorn Associations and a former member of the Farmington School Board. She was also a member of the Irene R. Luce Philathea Class of the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, the Franklin County Republicans, and the Election Committee for Farmington. Warren and Faye organized the Franklin County 4-H Dairy Club. Bowling was another hobby that she enjoyed. Faye's greatest love was showing her prize-winning cows and sheep at the fairs and exhibiting with her extended fair family. For many years, Voter Hill Farm exhibited registered Milking Shorthorns and Romney sheep at Maine fairs as well as at fairs in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. They had also exhibited at the National Milking Shorthorn show several times and in 1971 exhibited the National Grand Champion bull. Faye was well-known as "Grammie Faye" by everyone whether they were her grandchildren or not. She was a fun, hardworking, spirited woman that "we all" have grown to love and will miss dearly!!! She is survived by her son, Arthur Voter and his wife, Virginia, of Scarborough; daughter, Brenda York and her husband, L. Herbert, of Farmington; grandchildren, Terry Zacker and her husband, John, of Crofton, Md., Jill Hickey and her husband, Thomas, of Maynard, Mass., Tammy Kelley and her husband, Pete, of Pittston, and Trudy Johnson and her husband, Erik, of Farmington; great-grandchildren, Camden, Kendall and Brady Zacker, Kevin and Matthew Hickey, Billy and Cody Kelley and Erika and Mariah Johnson. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren; mother and father; sister, Maxine Patterson; and great-grandson, Alek Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, June 8, at Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road (Routes 2 and 27), Farmington, with pastor Chandler Woodcock officiating. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home one hour before the service. Immediately following the service, committal prayers will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Farmington. Following services, all are welcome to return to the center for a family reception.
