Faye Owens Beam, 96, of Piedmont, passed away September 12, 2016.
Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Frederick and Julia Boland Rampey. She attended Pomaria Elementary and Secondary Schools and attended St. John's Lutheran Church. The last surviving member of immediate family, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Elmer Rampey, Janie Rampey Sims and Beaman Rampey.
Faye made many lifelong friends through her work in the family owned Shell service station and grocery store on Highway 20 in Piedmont. Her homemade hot dogs that she sold there were the best! She was a faithful...

Faye was OES Empire Chapter #251's oldest member. She was a PM and a 50 year member. She was a member of Piedmont Chapter until they merged with Dunean and then Empire. Please remember her family in your prayers.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Furman B. Owens, Sr., in 1959; her second husband, Jim Beam in 1995; and by her son, Furman B. Owens, Jr. in 2010.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Scarlette Owens; grandson, Furman Lee Owens; grandson's fiancée, Tonya Morris; and great grandson, Evan A. Owens.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 1:30pm at Mackey Mortuary with Reverend Susan Crowell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Henry Gibson for being a thoughtful and loving friend; to Joan and Troy Bennett for always being such good neighbors and caring about Faye's welfare; to the very special staff members of Southern Oaks who made Faye's last year a happy one; and to her many friends in the Senior Citizens Group, the Order of the Eastern Star, Triune Methodist Church, Greenville, and First Baptist Church, Piedmont for sharing the good times with Faye.
